EMERGENCY
EMERGENCY AND URGENT CARE
We have
veterinarians and support staff on duty 6 days a week, who are trained and
equipped to help with your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at
least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's
life. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate
to call (207-282-6390) or come in immediately. If possible, it is best to call
before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular
emergency.
Common veterinary emergencies
include, but are not limited to:
- Painful, Unable to settle down
- Bleeding (may include nose bleeding or bruising
anywhere on body)
- Seizures, loss of consciousness, or disoriented in
behavior
- Difficulty breathing (may include Panting in a cat,
blue, purple or pale hue to tongue and gum's)
- Loss of appetite
- Vomiting
- Straining or crying out while trying to urinate
- Any traumatic injury
- Exposure to excessive heat or cold (normal body temp is 99-102 degrees F)
- Squinting or holding eye(s)
