We have
veterinarians and support staff on duty 6 days a week, who are trained and
equipped to help with your pet. Usually an emergency team consists of at
least one veterinarian and several technicians and assistants working together to save a pet's
life. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment do not hesitate
to call (207-282-6390) or come in immediately. If possible, it is best to call
before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular
emergency.
Common veterinary emergencies
include, but are not limited to:
- Painful, Unable to settle down
- Bleeding (may include nose bleeding or bruising
anywhere on body)
- Seizures, loss of consciousness, or disoriented in
behavior
- Difficulty breathing (may include Panting in a cat,
blue, purple or pale hue to tongue and gum's)
- Loss of appetite
- Vomiting
- Straining or crying out while trying to urinate
- Any traumatic injury
- Exposure to excessive heat or cold (normal body temp
is 99-102 degrees F)
- Squinting or holding eye(s)
shut
If your pet is experiencing any of the above emergencies, please contact the Biddeford Animal Hospital immediately or if after hours one of the emergency clinics listed below.

please seek care immediately.
